The collection consists of five items: flier, titled William Empson by I.A. Richards, printed as a special note by Furioso magazine, 12 Jan. 1940; signed, typewritten letter to Professor Weintraub, 14 Oct. 1974, congratulating him and thanking him for a book; handwritten letter to Professor Mann, 3 Feb. 1975, thanking him for returning a book; note to Dear Mann, 12 Feb. 1975, offering to donate an extra copy of an unnamed book to the libraries; also, offprint of a book review by Empson, titled The Voice of the Underdog, about Wayne C. Booth's A Rhetoric of Irony, originally published in the Winter 1975 issue of The Journal of General Education, inscribed to Charles Mann, 1975.
